When I hit publish on my very first blog post 10 years ago, I never could have imagined where it would lead.
Back then, Iceland with a View was just a tiny online journal – a way for friends and family back in the States to keep up with our life in Iceland. I’d write about the waterfalls and hikes we explored on weekends, how small the oven was, and how impossibly hard Icelandic was to learn (but we were taking lessons and trying!).
At the time, no one else was really sharing much about Iceland. It was nearly impossible to find travel information – what to pack, where to go, or how to reach those incredible spots that now fill your Instagram feed.
Then something amazing happened. People started finding my posts. They began asking questions about traveling here, and I realized I could help others experience Iceland in a way that would make them fall in love with it too.
That was the beginning of what Iceland with a View has become today.
Fast forward to now…a decade of helping travelers plan their dream trips to Iceland, and I’m honestly overwhelmed with gratitude. It’s still surreal to me that this is my job: talking about my favorite place in the world and helping others discover its magic.
