Halloween is not an official holiday in Iceland bu Halloween is not an official holiday in Iceland but last night I saw ghosts and bats in the sky in the form of northern lights!

The aurora forecast was a kp SEVEN last night - the highest I’ve ever seen so I knew this was gonna be a good one.

Around 10pm I looked out the window and saw they were starting up so I grabbed my camera and tripod and headed outside.

The sky EXPLODED in green - the aurora was everywhere I looked. Even Icelanders were coming outside to check it out!

Ribbons danced across the sky like someone was playing the piano, swirls and shapes of green took over the darkness. At one point I felt like I could reach up and touch them they were so close.

❓Which shape is your favorite❓I think photo 6 looks like a spaceship is trying to land and photo 7 looks like a creepy spirit!

These lights were in my top three sightings, they were SO strong! My heart was racing and I kept saying “holy shit!”

If you were here last night you got an amazing show. Lets hope for more like this for the rest of the winter 🤞

MUST see in Reykjavík! 🤩 The Imagine Peace To MUST see in Reykjavík! 🤩

The Imagine Peace Tower is a massive light beam as a tribute to John Lennon by his widow Yoko Ono. It is lit annually on Viðey Island just outside of Reykjavík from October 9th (the day he was born) until December 8th (the day he passed away). Every year the annual lighting ceremony is held on the opening night, but you can also visit the tower any day that it is lit.

Welp, after 6 months of the volcano erupting, I FI Welp, after 6 months of the volcano erupting, I FINALLY got a chance to go out and tackle the hike.

The weather was perfect - clear skies and no wind! A rare day here in Iceland.

Was I incredibly bummed that I went all the way there and only saw steaming black hardened lava? Yes. But the good news is you can learn from my experience and plan the best hike ever to Iceland's current erupting volcano.

In my latest video I tell you everything you need to know to plan your trip to the volcano:

✅ How to plan the hike
✅ Parking info

✅ Websites to check for conditions
✅ What you need to wear
✅ What to bring on the hike
and MORE!

Link to watch is in my bio.

I'd love to know if you are planning to hike to the volcano on your trip? Let me know in the comments! #icelandwithaview
