Some of my favorite hot springs are just an hour or so from Reykjavík:

👉🏼 Hvammsvík has 8 pools built right into the shoreline—with fjord views in every direction, a swim-up bar, and even the option to cold plunge straight into the sea.

👉🏼 Reykjadalur is hot spring river you have to hike into, surrounded by steam and mountains. It’s totally free and SO dreamy!

👉🏼 Laugarvatn Fontana is a laid-back lakeside spa, with hot pools, steam rooms, a lake you can cold plunge into. And their onsite geothermal bakery where they slow bake rye bread underground is just as delicious as it sounds! 😍

That’s just a peek — there’s so much more waiting off the beaten path.

If you ever think about me… picture a mom of two If you ever think about me… picture a mom of two singing along to T-Swift, daydreaming about the mountains, and planning her next Iceland road trip just for fun. 🚙🎶

I’m that friend who gets WAY too excited about planning (and spreadsheets)…but is just as down for a spontaneous detour to hike to a hidden hot spring. 😉

So if we haven’t met yet… hi! I’m Jeannie. 🙋‍♀️ And I’m here to help you love Iceland as much as I do!

It’s the most magical time of the year because…THE HIGHLANDS ARE OPENING 😍✨

It’s officially Highlands season, Team Iceland!

Every summer, from June through September, the F-roads reopen and give you access to Iceland’s most remote and jaw-dropping landscapes.
I’m talking painted mountains, steaming valleys, rugged trails, and hot springs with no one else around. 🙌

Whether you’re dreaming of Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, Kerlingarfjöll (or you’re not quite sure where to start) this is your window to explore Iceland’s wild side.

But here’s the thing:
⛰️ The roads are rough
📍 The routes are remote
👉🏼 And it’s VERY easy to miss the best parts without a solid plan

That’s why I created my Highlands Map + Guidebooks, to help you explore confidently, find hidden gems, and plan smarter!

After years of exploring these remote landscapes – navigating tricky F-roads, discovering hidden valleys, and learning the hard way where to fuel up, I gathered all that knowledge in one place.

Comment “MAPS” and I’ll DM you the link to shop my Highlands Guidebook + Map so you can start planning your mountain adventure! ⬇️

Planning a trip to Iceland? Here’s a power tip: Planning a trip to Iceland? Here’s a power tip: Icelandic sockets use Type C or Type F plugs ⚡️

The easy way to spot them? They’ve got two round prongs. Type F has an extra couple of clips on the side.

One more thing - Iceland operates on 230 volts. So if you’re jetting in from North America or other non-European countries, remember to pack a travel adapter.

If your travel plans stop in the South, you’re b If your travel plans stop in the South, you’re barely scratching the surface of what’s to be discovered in this beautiful country.

In the Highlands, the mountains are taller, the terrain more rugged, and the adventures never seem to end.

SWIPE 👉🏼 to get the deets on five of my all-time favorite Highland gems!

But something to know about the the Highlands? This part of Iceland is also the hardest to plan for.

Being completely uninhabited means there aren’t many places for fuel and accommodation. Plus, F-roads and river crossings make driving complicated.

That’s why I created my Iceland Highlands Map + Guide:

It’s a $25 digital resource packed with everything you need to explore this wild, beautiful region with confidence!

✅ Must-see stops + hiking trails

✅ Fuel + food logistics

✅ Road access + travel tips

✅ Firsthand recs from years of exploring

If the Highlands are on your bucket list this summer, this guide is your starting point.

Can I let you in on a little secret? 🤫 Most tr Can I let you in on a little secret? 🤫

Most travelers plan the same trip to Iceland.

They hit the top spots - Golden Circle, South Coast, the top attractions along the Ring Road - and then call it a day.

But the REAL magic of Iceland is found in the places they skip.

The quiet waterfalls, the tucked-away canyons, the hot springs with no one else around.

If you’re ready to explore Iceland beyond the crowds, my Iceland Guidebooks + Maps are for you. Comment “MAPS” and I’ll send you the link to shop ⬇️

With this resource, you can say goodbye to second-guessing which hidden gems are worth the detours and which ones aren’t. I’ve literally mapped out all the must-sees for you!

Trust me when I tell you…Iceland is full of surprises, you know where to look. 😉

Comment “MAPS” if you’re ready to find them, and I’ll send over the link to learn more about my Iceland Guidebooks + Maps!

After living in Iceland for years and road-trippin After living in Iceland for years and road-tripping around this island more times than I can count, I’ve learned one thing: being prepared is non-negotiable.

Iceland is wild, beautiful, and full of adventure, but it’s also unpredictable.

The weather changes fast, roads can close without warning and some areas are seriously remote.

This isn’t the kind of place where you just keep driving and hope for the best.🙅🏼‍♀️

That’s where these apps come in—a solid lineup of tools I use myself to stay safe, save time, and make the most of every trip. SWIPE 👉🏼 to get my full list of apps for Iceland!

When it comes to navigation, Google Maps is my go-to.

But if you want to go beyond just directions—and actually know where to stop, what to skip, and how to plan smarter—my Iceland Maps make it easy.

With every map, you’ll get:

📍 Must-see spots, hidden gems, and scenic pull-offs

📍 Gas stations, grocery stores, and restrooms (so you’re never caught off guard)

📍 Restaurant recs with real info on price, vibe, and dietary options

📍 Notes on road access, seasonal closures, opening hours & more

And the best part?

Each map is paired with a region-specific PDF Guidebook to help your DREAM itinerary!

Whether you’re driving the full Ring Road, exploring the Highlands, or sticking to South + West, you’ll find a guide that fits your route.

👇🏼 Comment “MAPS” and I’ll send you the link to browse them all!
