3 Reasons NOT To Go To The Blue Lagoon In Iceland 3 Reasons NOT To Go To The Blue Lagoon In Iceland 🙅‍♀️ 👉 Price: The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most famous attractions, and because of this, it’s on the pricier side. If budget is a big concern, you might want to skip this! 👉 Crowds: If you hate crowds and would prefer to visit destinations where you can actually FEEL Iceland’s untouched beauty, the Blue Lagoon might not be for you. 👉 Touristy: No surprise here — the Blue Lagoon draws in thousands of tourists every year. Over time, it’s evolved into more of a high-end spa resort than a natural hot spring. With constant upgrades, added bars, cafés, and fancy packages, it’s feeling less Icelandic and more… curated. Not to mention all the nearby volcanic activity — getting evacuated on vacation isn’t exactly ideal. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you really want to go to the Blue Lagoon, you should still do it (I do still love it!) But there are dozens of other geothermal pools around Iceland that are just as memorable, way less crowded, and way easier on your wallet.
