And that leap? It was the beginning of something SO beautiful. ✨

A new country. A family. And eventually… a business helping thousands fall in love with Iceland — just like she did.

That unexpected life detour changed everything.

And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing. ❤️

7 Iceland waterfalls that live rent-free in my hea 7 Iceland waterfalls that live rent-free in my head… and will in yours too. 😍👇🏼

Here are my all-time faves, Iceland waterfalls edition:

1️⃣ Glymur Waterfall

If you’re up for a hike, Glymur is SUCH a fun adventure, complete with river crossings and incredible canyon views. It’s one of those spots that makes you feel like you earned the view at the top. 😉

2️⃣ Seljalandsfoss

One of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls — and yes, that’s the one you can walk behind. Just don’t forget your rain jacket because you WILL get soaked!! 💦

3️⃣ Hengifoss

Hengifoss is such a standout with those cool red clay stripes running through the cliff face. It’s a bit of a climb, but the view is 100% worth it.

4️⃣ Dettifoss

Dettifoss is a beast — the most powerful waterfall in Europe and it feels like it. The sheer force of the water is WILD when you’re standing near it!

5️⃣ Dynjandi

One of my all-time FAVORITE waterfalls in the Westfjords (I mean, isn’t she photogenic? 😍)There are smaller falls along the path up, which makes the whole stop even better.

6️⃣ Brúarfoss

Brúarfoss is a hidden gem that’s off the Golden Circle. A slight detour that’s totally worth the effort — the water is this unreal turquoise blue that contrasts beautifully against black lava rock.

7️⃣ Svartifoss

Tucked inside Skaftafell, Svartifoss is surrounded by black basalt columns that make it seriously unique. It’s an easy hike, and the views at the end are 🤌 chef’s kiss 🤌

Visiting Iceland in May? Get ready for a spring pa Visiting Iceland in May? Get ready for a spring paradise! Here’s what you need to know:

☀️ Daylight hours are in abundance! We start the month with a whopping 17 hours and end with an incredible 20 hours of daylight. More time for exploring!

🪻 As the month progresses, Iceland transforms into a lush, green wonderland. Keep an eye out for the stunning purple lupine flowers blanketing the landscape!

🌡️ Temperature-wise, expect a mild range of 41-68°F (5-20°C). Pack layers to stay comfortable in the cooler temps!

🚙 Driving in May is a breeze, with most areas easily accessible. A 2WD will do the trick for most routes, but opt for a 4WD if you’re venturing to the Westfjords.

😴 With so much daylight, an eye mask will be your best friend for a good night’s sleep!

Would you love to experience the magic of Iceland in May? Let me know in the comments! 👇🏼

Heading out on an Icelandic road trip? Check out t Heading out on an Icelandic road trip? Check out these 3 road signs you WON’T spot in Iceland 👇

3️⃣ Rest Areas: Iceland doesn't have typical rest areas. Plan your food, restroom, and gas stops ahead for a smoother journey.

But don't worry! I've got the perfect resource to make your trip stress-free.

My Iceland digital Maps have over 500 pinned locations, including restrooms, gas stations, accommodations...and of course my top hot spots and hidden gems!

Puffin season is upon us…😍🐧 If you’re d Puffin season is upon us…😍🐧

If you’re dying to see these cute little birds on your Iceland trip, you’ve gotta add Látrabjarg to your list.

It’s one of the go-to spots for puffin-watching in the northwest corner of the country.

The Westfjords are straight-up magical in the summer. Picture stunning cliffs, ocean views, and adorable puffins just chilling on the rocks. It’s every animal lover’s dream!

But just a word to the wise…

Always practice precaution and don’t get too close to the edge of the cliff. The drop-off is no joke, and there aren’t any barriers around.

So, who’s ready to add a little puffin-watching to their Iceland itinerary? 🙋‍♀️

Drop a comment below if you’ve ever had a close encounter with these cuties in the wild! 👇

The wrong rental car can wreck your Highlands adve The wrong rental car can wreck your Highlands adventure. Here’s why.👇🏼

Iceland’s Highlands aren’t your average road trip. You’re heading into remote, rugged country — think gravel roads, steep climbs, and stretches with no cell service.

And every summer, I hear the same story: someone rents a tiny car to save money… and ends up stuck, stranded, or facing a huge repair bill. 😬

If you’re heading into the Highlands, you NEED a proper 4x4 — with insurance that actually covers Iceland’s unique conditions (like gravel, wind, and underbody damage).

This isn’t to scare you, and honestly, you’ll probably be A-OK! But it’s always better to be prepared — because you never know what Iceland might throw your way.

👉🏼 That’s why I always recommend Blue Car Rental. Their pricing includes way more coverage than most companies, plus they’re a local Icelandic business that knows these roads like the back of their hand.

When you choose them, you’ll get:

✅ Gravel protection + wind protection

✅ 24/7 roadside assistance

✅ Optional liability waiver for extra peace of mind

Want my discount code for your trip?

Comment BLUE and I’ll send it your way! 👇🏼
