After living in Iceland for years and road-trippin After living in Iceland for years and road-tripping around this island more times than I can count, I’ve learned one thing: being prepared is non-negotiable.

Iceland is wild, beautiful, and full of adventure, but it’s also unpredictable.

The weather changes fast, roads can close without warning and some areas are seriously remote.

This isn’t the kind of place where you just keep driving and hope for the best.🙅🏼‍♀️

That’s where these apps come in—a solid lineup of tools I use myself to stay safe, save time, and make the most of every trip. SWIPE 👉🏼 to get my full list of apps for Iceland!

When it comes to navigation, Google Maps is my go-to.

But if you want to go beyond just directions—and actually know where to stop, what to skip, and how to plan smarter—my Iceland Maps make it easy.

With every map, you’ll get:

📍 Must-see spots, hidden gems, and scenic pull-offs

📍 Gas stations, grocery stores, and restrooms (so you’re never caught off guard)

📍 Restaurant recs with real info on price, vibe, and dietary options

📍 Notes on road access, seasonal closures, opening hours & more

And the best part?

Each map is paired with a region-specific PDF Guidebook to help your DREAM itinerary!

Whether you’re driving the full Ring Road, exploring the Highlands, or sticking to South + West, you’ll find a guide that fits your route.

👇🏼 Comment “MAPS” and I’ll send you the link to browse them all!

If you’ve ever butchered the name of an Icelandi If you’ve ever butchered the name of an Icelandic town… don’t worry, you’re not alone. But let’s fix that 😅👇🏼

I used to be so self-conscious trying to pronounce Icelandic words and would often end up saying:

"Can you take us to... umm... here?" Points at map 🗺️

I've spent years trying to master these tongue twisters – and still mess them up sometimes! 🙈

But the locals are always super kind about it.

Even if they’re secretly stifling a giggle! 🤭

These four spots might be on your Iceland itinerary, but don't let the names intimidate you!

Still struggling with Icelandic pronunciation? Let’s break it down…

1️⃣ Sólheimasandur - Pronounced: “Soul-hay-mah-sand-er.” (Emphasis on the first syllable!)
2️⃣ Mývatn - Pronounced: “Mee-vaht.” (With a soft breath at the end 🙆🏼‍♀️)
3️⃣ Snæfellsnes- Pronounced: “Snai-fels-ness.” (The double L sound doesn't apply in this instance 😅)
4️⃣ Seyðisfjörður- Pronounced: “Say-this-fyur-thur.” (The “ð” is actually a strong “th” sound.)

Got it? Good!

Just practice a few times, and you’ll impress everyone on your trip.

Which spot is on your Iceland bucket list? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Arrival Day in Iceland isn’t necessarily HARD, b Arrival Day in Iceland isn’t necessarily HARD, but it *can* catch you off guard if you’re not prepared.

I mean… customs at 6 AM? Before coffee? Running on two hours of airplane sleep? Yeah. 😅

It’s easy to skip Duty Free, overspend on a taxi, or plan too much for Day 1 without realizing how tired you’ll actually be.

That’s exactly what my Free Iceland Arrival Guide is for — to help avoid those first-timer regrets and start the trip feeling calm, not scrambled. 😌

To my American friends coming to Iceland…don’t To my American friends coming to Iceland…don’t let this catch you off guard! 👇🏼

You might be used to turning right on red back home, but in Iceland, that’s a no-go. 🚦 Even if there’s no one coming, you’ve gotta wait for the green.

This isn’t signposted, so it’s something you’ve gotta be *extra* careful about before getting behind the wheel. It definitely took me a little getting used to!

Have you driven in Iceland yet? Tell me what surprised you the most!

It’s the little things that make life in Iceland It’s the little things that make life in Iceland so special 🫶🏼

A soak in a hot spring. Wide, open roads. An unexpected waterfall you stumble across.

There’s something about this place that makes you want to slow down and really take it in.

Icelanders don’t rush. They take their time.

And you can feel it in everything...from the handwoven lopapeysa sweaters to the farm-to-table meals, prepared slowly with the freshest local ingredients.

There’s beauty in the quiet, in the rhythm, and in doing things with care 💚

Iceland constantly reminds me of that, and seriously couldn’t be more in love with the lifestyle here. ✨
