I can’t decide if I want to buy an itinerary or a guidebook, what’s the difference?

The guidebooks are great if you want to research on your own – all information is provided to plan your trip. The pre-written itinerary takes out all the guesswork – the planning is already done for you!

This trail is short, beautiful, and ends in waffle This trail is short, beautiful, and ends in waffles. 🧇
What more could you want? 😍

Here are all of the important deets 👇🏼

📍 Where: West Iceland – Snæfellsnes Peninsula
🥾 Trail: Arnarstapi to Hellnar coastal walk (~2 miles, about 45 minutes one way)
✨ Why it’s magical: Ocean views, lava fields, dramatic cliffs, and seabirds everywhere
💚 Bonus: Check out Fjöruhúsið café at the end for homemade cakes, waffles, or their soup + sandwich combo
🅿️ Parking: Lots at either end. Walk one-way and back, or out-and-back from either village.
☀️ Best for: A clear day with good visibility (skip it if it’s too windy or rainy)

This is one of those spots you’ll only find if someone tells you about it…and my Iceland itineraries are full of hidden gems like this, already mapped and ready to go.

My detailed plans make sure you always know exactly where to go, how long it takes, and what not to miss.

Comment “ITINERARY” and I’ll send you the link to check them out! 👇🏼

Most travelers never make it to the Westfjörds… Most travelers never make it to the Westfjörds… but those who do often say it’s the highlight of their trip. 💚

Think adorable fishing villages, rugged coastal drives, waterfalls galore, and beaches where you might just be the only one there.

If you consider yourself an explorer, Iceland’s Westfjörds are a MUST.

Here’s how I’d spend a perfect day in the region. (BONUS: All of these stops are SUPER close together, so if you’re someone who wants to spend less time driving and more time exploring, you’re going to want to SAVE this. ☝🏼)

And if you want more hidden gems like this…

There’s plenty more where these came from. 🙌🏼

Want the full list (without hours of Googling)? My Westfjörds Map has everything pinned for you.

Here’s what one traveler, Lisa G., said about it:

“For the cost of a coffee and pastry, you get everything you need for a terrific trip to the Westfjords. This is my second purchase from Jeannie (Ring Road Itinerary was amazing) and I am super happy and excited for her help!”

Ready to navigate this remote region like a pro?

The Westfjörds Map is linked in my bio!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

There’s literally ✨nothing✨ an Icelandic hot spring can’t fix.

One step into that steamy, mineral-rich water and it’s like your whole nervous system exhales.

Stress? Gone. 🙅🏼‍♀️
Jet lag? Handled. 💁🏼‍♀️
A brain that’s normally running on overdrive? It’s finally slowing down. 😌

If you think you might need a reset, don’t wait. Book that hot spring soak for day 1!

It’s the ultimate way to shake off the flight, clear your head, and drop into vacation mode FAST.

Whether you’re into luxe hot springs that feel like a 5-star retreat or you’re chasing hidden hot pots out in the wild — Iceland delivers. 👏🏼 You’ve got options, so take your pick.

And let me know...Is this your kind of therapy too? Send this to someone you’d love to indulge in Icelandic self-care with! 💚

Yes, the Ring Road is an iconic road trip… but n Yes, the Ring Road is an iconic road trip… but not everyone has the time for the full loop.

To do it right, you’ll want at least a week (and even longer in winter).

But if you’re working with 3–6 days? You can still see so much — without spending your entire trip behind the wheel.

Some of Iceland’s most unforgettable landscapes are just a few hours from Reykjavík.

I’m talking geysers, black sand beaches, glaciers, hot springs, rugged coastlines and crater lakes that will have you feeling like you’ve been transported to another planet! 🪐

Here are 3 easy-to-access regions that pack in the highlights:

✨ Golden Circle → geysers, hot springs & crater lakes (~1 hr from Reykjavík)
✨ South Coast → glaciers, black sand beaches & iconic waterfalls (1–2 hrs)
✨ Snæfellsnes → lava fields, mountains & dramatic coastline (2–3 hrs)

The trick is knowing how to link them together in a way that works, without backtracking, overstuffing your days, or missing the good stuff.

That’s exactly what I built my Iceland Itineraries for. They show you the best of each region in a way that feels doable, not overwhelming.

Think: perfectly timed daily routes, handpicked stops, and tips that help you travel like you’ve got a local friend in the passenger seat (who happens to be really good at planning road trips 😉).

Comment ITINERARY below and I’ll send you the link to explore them all…including routes designed specifically for shorter trips! 👇

If I wouldn’t have signed up to spend a month in If I wouldn’t have signed up to spend a month in New Zealand 18 years ago I wouldn’t have met my best friend and lifetime adventure partner.

I wouldn’t have gone to grad school and then moved to Houston for an internship.

I wouldn’t have gone to Iceland for a honeymoon and found where our heart is at home.

I wouldn’t have everything I’ve ever wished for.

Thank you for constantly pushing me outside of my comfort zone and growing stronger together every year.

Cheers to never ending adventures with our little family and to the beautiful life we’ve created.

I love you. Happy anniversary 🤍

Everyone talks about Iceland’s spas—Blue Lagoo Everyone talks about Iceland’s spas—Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon, all the big ones.
But what no one really tells you… is how good the public pools are.

Coming from the States, “going to the pool” usually meant heading to a pretty basic neighborhood spot.
They’d have cold, chlorinated water, swimming lanes, a diving board, and a shallow end for the kids.

And it was usually a short trip—you get in, you cool off, and. You go home.

And if you wanted something bigger like a waterpark it’d be like fifty bucks a person to get in.

But in Iceland, going to the pool is an entirely different experience.

There are legit waterslides, splash pads, even wave pools at some of them. I don’t even have to bring floaties and toys for the kids because they have those as well!

And while the kids play, the adults lounge, rotating between hot pots, steam rooms, saunas and cold plunges.

And it’s not $50 per person like a U.S. water park.
It’s more like… eight bucks. And kids are free!

Locals go all the time. Before work, after dinner—it’s just a regular part of life here.
And once you’ve been… it kind of makes you wonder why we don’t do it this way everywhere.

So yeah…the famous spas are great.
But Iceland’s local pools might just be one of the best things about living here.

Have you visited a local pool in Iceland? Let me know in the comments if you’re just as obsessed with the pool culture as I am!
