I want to see places off the beaten path, are those included?

Of course! Each itinerary includes plenty of Jeannie’s gems to make your experience unique, not just visiting the major stops.

One way to guarantee you'll upset the locals in Ic One way to guarantee you'll upset the locals in Iceland…

Step on the moss.

It might look like a soft green carpet, but it’s INCREDIBLY delicate. Icelandic moss takes decades to grow and just seconds to destroy — and once it’s damaged, it might never recover.

And yet, people step off the trail every day to grab a photo or shortcut a hike — sometimes without even realizing the harm they’re causing.

📸 But getting the perfect shot shouldn’t come at the cost of destroying the very thing you came to see.

Want to explore Iceland the responsible way? Stay on marked paths, shoot from a distance, and protect the land that makes this place so special. 💚

Do you agree? Let me know in the comments.

💸 Iceland CAN be pricey… But a lot of travelers e 💸 Iceland CAN be pricey…

But a lot of travelers end up overspending simply because they didn’t know what to expect.

And honestly, some of the most of the “expensive mistakes” people make aren’t the big, dramatic ones. They’re small, everyday choices that add up FAST. ⚡️

Think:

→ Eating out 3x a day (when the gas station Skyr for breakfast would’ve hit just as hard)

→ Using data roaming instead of setting up an e-sim — then getting hit with a $200+ bill when you get home

→ Paying for a puffin tour when you could’ve seen them for free...

If you want to travel smarter (and make your money go further), my Iceland Maps + Guidebooks are a must.

They’re filled with local-approved tips, planning checklists, and money-saving advice to help you avoid the most common traps — without cutting corners.

You’ll lock in better prices on tours, hotels, and rental cars, and plan your trip with way 👏🏼 less 👏🏼 stress 👏🏼

Oh, and did I mention they’re filled with discounts that essentially pay for the guide itself? 👀

They’re the ULTIMATE tool for travelers ready to self-drive Iceland! 🚙

If you’re ready to plan your adventure like a pro, comment “ICELANDMAP” and I’ll send you the link to check them out 👇🏼
Before moving to Iceland, my husband and I had alw Before moving to Iceland, my husband and I had always talked about moving abroad. ✈️

It was one of those conversations that kept coming up — over dinners, on roadtrips, or on vacation.

We didn’t have a plan. Just the feeling that maybe—someday—we’d try something different.

But it wasn’t until one fateful day on our honeymoon, in the small fishing village of Husavík in North Iceland, that the thought popped into our minds…

“What if we moved here?”

It was half a joke. Until it wasn’t.

That question turned into a conversation.

And that conversation turned into a plan.

One year (and a whole lotta visa stress) later, we were unloading our suitcases at our new apartment in Reykjavík, a little in awe at what we’d just done.

Yes, there were nerves and plenty of logistics to figure out.

But mostly, there was this overwhelming right-ness about the whole thing.

And now, two kids, too many adventures to count, and one business later...

We’re still here. And Iceland still feels like the best leap we ever took. ✨

If you’ve ever had a voice in your head whisper something wild…

“Move.” “Start over.” “Try something new.”

I’m just here to say:
It might be worth listening to. 💚

Let’s be real: decoding a parking meter in a forei Let’s be real: decoding a parking meter in a foreign language is no one’s idea of vacation fun 😅

Lucky for you… parking in Iceland is actually EASY. 🙌🏼

You can do it straight from your phone with the EasyPark app. Just open the app, pick your zone, set your time, and pay right from your phone.

Prices are determined by the zone you’re in, and the closer you are to downtown, the more expensive they become.

Here’s your cheat sheet:
🔴 P1 (Red & Pink): Downtown, most expensive
🔵 P2 (Blue): Just outside the center, slightly cheaper
🟢 P3 (Green): Farther out, most affordable

You can always pay by card. And you can even extend from your phone if your dinner runs long, or you underestimated just how fascinating the Iceland Phallological Museum would be. 😂

No need to run back to the meter or worry about getting a fine.

👉🏼 Pro tip: Be sure to also download the Parka app before your trip.

EasyPark is the most common for street parking in Reykjavík, but other towns and tourist hotspots across the country use Parka.

Headed to Iceland this winter? Don’t let bad packi Headed to Iceland this winter? Don’t let bad packing ruin your trip.

It’s hard to enjoy a waterfall when your toes are frozen and the wind’s cutting through your jacket. 🥶

And it’s not just chilly, it’s wildly unpredictable — one minute it might be sunny and the next you’re getting pelted with sideways rain.

That’s why being prepared for ANYTHING Mother Nature throws your way is key.

But if you don’t feel like buying an entire suitcase of winter gear just for one trip, I’ve got you. 💁🏼‍♀️

👉🏼 @icelandcover rents out winter clothing like jackets, boots, crampons, gloves — all built for Iceland’s toughest conditions.

You’ll get top outdoor brands that are local-approved, instead of wondering if the gear you have from back home will really cut it.

And it couldn’t be more convenient!

Just choose your gear and sizes online, pick your rental dates, and select pickup or delivery. That’s it.

Ready to take the stress out of winter packing?

Head to the link in my bio to check out IcelandCover and use the code ‘ICELANDWITHAVIEW’ for 10% off!
