Traveling to Iceland in the winter? Remember these Traveling to Iceland in the winter? Remember these 5 things! 👇

👉 Be prepared
Iceland can be unpredictable, especially when it comes to weather and road conditions during the winter!

I know that you might be an adventurous traveler, but trust me when I say – don’t leave things up to chance when it comes to planning your Iceland trip. Start planning well in advance!

👉 Make the most of daylight hours
You want to remember that Iceland has very limited light hours during the winter (like only 4 hours in the darkest months!) So be sure to plan your activities during this window and maximize the time when the sun comes out to play ☀️

👉 Pack a swimsuit!
The best way to fill those darker hours?

Geothermal pools!

There’s nothing for rewarding than soaking in a hot spring after a cold winter day exploring Iceland.

👉 Be safe
Iceland is one of the safest countries you could travel to, but you have to respect mother nature. Because she can be seriously fierce!

This means adhering to all warnings, and always erring on the side of caution. Better to be safe than sorry, and end up stranded somewhere you don’t want to be!

👉 Catch the Northern lights!
If the Northern Lights are on your bucket list, then a winter trip is the perfect time to catch them.

I have an entire guide on how to see the Northern Lights in Iceland, so just DM me “AURORA” if you want more info ✨

Iceland Rental Car FAQ 🚗💭 Should you get GPS Iceland Rental Car FAQ 🚗💭 Should you get GPS navigation car or wifi?

The verdict is in, and WIFI is the way to go!

From both personal experience, and countless comments from my community, I can tell you:

Getting a GPS in your rental car isn't the most reliable option.

👎 Sometimes it glitches
👎 And sometimes it doesn't have the places you want to go on the map

That's why getting a car rental with wifi is the winning option! 🏆

You can link up maps from your phone or tablet for navigation, rather than relying on a GPS system that might not be up to date.

Plus, ANY device in your car can hook up to wifi so you get more bang for your buck!

And a sweet bonus? 🤩

You can hook up your rental to the digital maps...AKA the only itinerary you will ever need 😍

Shop now by sending me a DM with the word "MAPS" to check out hundreds of locations around Iceland!
Picture this... You wake up to breathtaking views Picture this...

You wake up to breathtaking views...

You make coffee in your french press and start making eggs & bacon in your camping stove ☕️

You snuggle up beside your loved one and eat breakfast together gazing out at rugged volcanic terrain, massive glaciers, and powerful waterfalls 💧

You hit the road on your own time for another day of exploring...today you’re going to check out a geothermal hot spring. You gaze out the window and take in the scenery along the way!

If this sounds like a dream come true (and trust me...it is)

...Then renting a camper van in Iceland is the best option for you 🚐

Not only is this option your wheels and your bed, but it’s also equipped for cooking as well!

For budget travelers and adventure lovers alike, renting a camper van for your Iceland trip is an amazing option.

And the BEST Iceland campervan company that I have used and always highly recommend is Happy Campers :)

They’re a family-run business that’s been operating in Iceland since 2009. They know Iceland camper van rentals inside-out –and I recommend them to anyone who wants to see the country in this unique way.

If an Iceland road trip is calling your name, you can get a 10% discount by heading to the link in my bio and grabbing the code IWV10 on your Happy Campers rental!

Let me know...have you ever dreamt of traveling Iceland - camper van style? 🚐👇
Everyone has heard of Skogafoss but did you know t Everyone has heard of Skogafoss but did you know there are HIDDEN waterfalls behind it?!

This is referred to as “waterfall way” and has 2️⃣6️⃣!!! MORE waterfalls 😱

All you have to do is take the stairs to the top of the falls and continue on the path next to the river.

This is also the start of the Fimmvörðuháls hiking trail that ends up in the highlands, so the route gets very challenging in areas.

Note: due to safety, this can only be tackled when there’s no snow.

Tell me in the comments…Will you try it during your visit?!
