Our Life in Iceland - Month 5 - Iceland with a View

This month has gone by so fast, I literally didn’t even realize it was the end of January!
I guess they really mean time flies when you are having fun!Here is what we have been up to the last (belated) month.

12/19 – I hosted a cookie exchange and game night with some of our friends. I spent the whole day baking all kinds of sweets and treats, and it really hit me that I missed doing these things with my mom and sister for the holidays!12/25 – Christmas was pretty low key with just the two of us this year. Thankfully we had a long skype session with my whole family and I got to see my parents open their gift. Bobby and I did a loooooot of relaxing and watched an embarrassing amount of movies. It was wonderful!

12/26 – Another beautiful day called for a day trip to Gullfoss waterfall. I remember when we first saw this waterfall and thinking I would love to see it in the winter. Well, turns out it is somehow more beautiful with snow!

12/30 – Every year on my birthday I’m always waiting to see what Bobby has planned. He knows that he can’t use the “this is your Christmas AND birthday gift” excuse I have been getting my whole life, so he usually makes the birthday gift pretty good. After work I was getting ready to go to one of our favorite restaurants when he told me to start packing my suitcase instead – we leave for Sweden in seven hours!12/31 – So we spent New Years in Stockholm, which was so fun! What a beautiful city, full post details coming soon!

The fireworks show over Stockholm last night was incredible! I’ve never seen so many fireworks in my life. What an amazing birthday weekend surprise ? Happy New Year everyone! ?? #happynewyear #fireworks #stockholm

1/6 – We booked our flights for Ireland in May, woo hoo! Our friends are coming to Iceland and then we are heading to North and South Ireland for a week to explore together. Super excited to see that beautiful country! Um, hello fresh Guinness IN Ireland!1/13 – After work the sky was clear so I took advantage of getting some views of the city from above. Perlan is a great place to get some views of the city from above. Even though I only had my iphone with me, you can’t beat this view!

1/14 – Another evening with the wonderful ladies from the International group. It’s so wonderful to spend a few hours each month connecting with other expat women living in Iceland, everyone has great stories!1/16 – I joined in on my first InstaMeet with fellow Instagrammers from Iceland and some guests from NYC. We spent the day walking around Reykjavik and taking photos of this adorable city.
