Living in Iceland means... 👩‍💻 Saying goo Living in Iceland means...

👩‍💻 Saying goodbye to the convenience of online shopping and learning to love your local stores.

🌨️ Trying to plan ANYTHING around the weather—because let’s be real, she never cooperates.

🥾 And trading in those cute summer sets and sandals for jeans, layers, and hiking boots.

Which one would be hardest for YOU to give up?

Everyone talks about Iceland’s spas—Blue Lagoo Everyone talks about Iceland’s spas—Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon, all the big ones.
But what no one really tells you… is how good the public pools are.

Coming from the States, “going to the pool” usually meant heading to a pretty basic neighborhood spot.
They’d have cold, chlorinated water, swimming lanes, a diving board, and a shallow end for the kids.

And it was usually a short trip—you get in, you cool off, and. You go home.

And if you wanted something bigger like a waterpark it’d be like fifty bucks a person to get in.

But in Iceland, going to the pool is an entirely different experience.

There are legit waterslides, splash pads, even wave pools at some of them. I don’t even have to bring floaties and toys for the kids because they have those as well!

And while the kids play, the adults lounge, rotating between hot pots, steam rooms, saunas and cold plunges.

And it’s not $50 per person like a U.S. water park.
It’s more like… eight bucks. And kids are free!

Locals go all the time. Before work, after dinner—it’s just a regular part of life here.
And once you’ve been… it kind of makes you wonder why we don’t do it this way everywhere.

So yeah…the famous spas are great.
But Iceland’s local pools might just be one of the best things about living here.

Have you visited a local pool in Iceland? Let me know in the comments if you’re just as obsessed with the pool culture as I am!

Skyr is a MUST-TRY when visiting Iceland! 🇮🇸 Skyr is a MUST-TRY when visiting Iceland! 🇮🇸

Technically classified as cheese, Skyr is actually most similar to yogurt in texture and flavor.

With so many flavors to choose from, you don’t want to leave Iceland without trying this creamy, delicious treat!

In my family, we can’t get enough of it - we buy it by the tub and eat it all day long 😍

Have you tried Iceland’s famous Skyr?

Pssst. this is also an amazing, affordable snack for Iceland road trips!! 🚗

Here’s what nobody tells you about your Iceland Here’s what nobody tells you about your Iceland Itinerary 👀

It’s often the details most people don’t think about that derail a trip.

Drive times that don't account for road conditions. Attractions closed for the season. Hours without gas, food, or restrooms in sight 😬

(And yep…most generic itineraries leave this stuff out.)

That’s why my Iceland Itineraries go BEYOND the usual day-by-day plans that outline where to go and what to see.

Instead, mine are built on 10+ years of living here—with every practical detail, seasonal consideration, and insider tip you actually need.

No surprises, no stress, no 'wish I'd known that before we left' moments.

Just every detail laid out for you in a perfectly-optimized plan that feels like traveling with a local friend who's done all the homework. 💁‍♀️

Ready to get your hands on an itinerary built by someone who’s thought of everything so you don’t have to?

Just comment “ITINERARY” and I’ll send you the link to check them out!

A quick tip that could save you from getting pulle A quick tip that could save you from getting pulled over in Iceland 👇

Your headlights ALWAYS need to be on here! Yes, even in full summer daylight. It’s the law.

The weather here is moodier than a hangry toddler 😉 So even if it looks sunny one minute, rain, snow, fog or even hail could be rolling in the next.

That’s why Icelanders don’t take any chances. Visibility is everything, so lights should be on at ALL TIMES.

Rental cars don’t always default to lights-on, so double-check before you hit the road.

Is this something you already knew, or would you have missed it?
