There are two Highland routes that bisect Iceland – one is Sprengisandur (F26) and the other one is Kjalvegur aka Kjölur (F35). In this video we drive our Land Rover Defender on F35 which runs from Akureyri to Reykjavik. Along the way, we stop by Hveravellir geothermal area and the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range, known for incredible hiking and a true gem in the highlands. This area of Iceland can ONLY be accessed in the summer months (June-September) and requires a 4wd vehicle.
